The lowest point in the United States lies south of Furnace Creek. A sign shows clearly when you are 282 feet below sea level.

During this 3-Day Road Trip from Los Angeles, start from a few points of interest in the Mojave Desert including the historic ghost town on your way there. This trip has two overnight stays & requires a 4-wheel runner as some roads in this route are unpaved. On your way back to LA, travel to see the great variety of canyons as well as sand dunes.
